Dr Judith Budavari is a dermatologist in private practice in Dunkeld, Johannesburg. Judith's basic medical degree, specialization in dermatology and MMed thesis were all obtained at the University of the Witwatersrand. She has over twenty years experience in the field of dermatology and it is her passion in life.
Mole mapping
Judith offers important life saving clinical dermatology. This includes skin examinations, freezing and cutting out skin lesions and mole mapping with the Molemax machine. This is especially valuable in patients with many moles and a history of previous atypical moles or a family history of melanoma. The Molemax machine is one of the most outstanding recent developments in the field of dermatology.

Laser hair removal
The practice has a Candela Gentle Lase Alexandrite hair removal laser, which has a high success rate in removing dark hair on fair to medium skin tones. The alexandrite laser has a higher success rate than IPL (intense pulsed light) or Diode lasers in hair removal. The laser light damages the root of the hair by targeting the pigment in it. Normally, depending on the area being treated, 6 to 8 treatments are adequate to prevent hair regrowth.

Radiofrequency & Carboxytherapy
Exilis Radiofrequency (BTL) treatments are used to tighten and contour facial and body skin and reduce mild to moderate cellulite. Heating the skin to 42 degrees for 10 minutes per area causes tightening of existing collagen and stimulation of new collagen production. While the Exilis is heating the dermis, the system's digital thermometer provides constant feedback so that skin temperature remains constant and treatment is comfortable and safe.

Botox® & Dysport
Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) is an injectable solution prepared in a laboratory which smoothes out hyperactive muscles and wrinkles in the face. People with expressive faces often develop frown and forehead lines, crow's feet and "sad lines" from pulling down the corners of the mouth. Botox injections in these areas will smooth out the muscles and the overlying skin in these areas, resulting in a more relaxed and wrinkle free face.

Fillers
Fillers are usually gels which are injected into the face to fill in wrinkles and to increase volume in areas such as the lips, cheeks or temples. Results are immediate but there may be swelling and bruising in the injected areas for 3 to 10 days.
Hyaluronic Acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are the products used. Hyaluronic acid is the gel between the collagen and elastic fibres in the deeper layers of the skin.

Skin Peels
A skin peel is an acid or combination of acids is applied to the skin. Dead skin cells are removed from the upper superficial layers of the skin, pores are cleared out, and collagen production can be stimulated.
AHA's (Alpha hydroxy acids) are derived from milk or fruit sugars. These are water soluble and affect the surface layers of the skin. Sun damaged or dry skins benefit from the moisturising properties of AHA's.
BHA's (Beta hydroxy acids) are oil soluble and are usually used for oily, acneic and combination skins because of their ability to unclog pores, treat blemishes and skin calming properties.

Rejuvenate your skin with micro needling

The main reason for this is the reduction in fibroblast cells, which are building blocks of collagen proteins that help keep our cells strong and connected.
